Senior Commercial Engineering Software Architect

Corporation is a technology leader in statistical and physics based product life prediction (prognostics) for military, aerospace, renewable energy and industrial machinery. We develop software simulation tools leveraging physics and statistics, which lower the cost of fielding high dollar, rotating equipment such as helicopters, jet fighters and wind turbines. CLIENT has enjoyed steady revenue growth and profitability since inception in 2001. Our growing engineering team consists of 10 of the best people in their fields, primarily consists of scientists and engineers, including 4 Ph.D. and 3 M.S. holders. Our corporate headquarters are in Idaho Falls, ID.
A candidate is sought with extensive 10+ year experience in architecting successful, on time, commercial Software Architecture. The new hire or consultant will lead the first release of our component, product & fleet and durability prediction software due by the end of 2010. Our team of researchers and engineers have developed break through methods, models, libraries, software components to solve what was consider a dream in life prediction only 5-10 years ago. The architect must have the domain and process flow knowhow around how a mechanical design engineer or analyst will use these tools and craft the software flow accordingly. The second product will be developed for Warranty Analysts, so experience in business intelligence (BI) software is of additional value. Candidates should have degree in multidisciplinary risk engineering, mechanical engineering or similar field. This person will co-report to the project Chief Scientist and General Manager.
Experience should cover as many of the following topics as possible in Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) : Architected Mechanical CAD, Statistical component life prediction, warranty prediction and/or Finite Element Analysis (FEA) software. Experience with companies such as: Autodesk, PTC, Ansis, Nastran, Dassault Stimula, Dassault Acrobat or Catia, UGS, Reliasoft, SAS,
